Before the reboot, there was Katrina Kaif

Fashion may adore a comeback, but there are some looks that never really leave the conversation. This is what happened when the makers of the ‘Welcome’ film series released a revamped version of the popular song ‘Ucha Lamba Kad’ starring Disha Patani and Akshay Kumar for their upcoming film ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’ But the internet is not yet ready to forget the original diva of the song, Katrina Kaif - giving killer fashion looks with iconic steps. The social media is now comparing Disha’s looks to Katrina's, and well, we all know who won the conversation.

Fashion déjà vu gone wrong

In the revamped version, Disha Patani can be seen in multiple ensembles, where a silver intricate beaded halter neckline co-ord set looks similar to Katrina’s golden halter neckline top worn in the original song. With open wavy locks and beige detailing around the bottom, she rocked this mini dress, which is still riding high on social media. Katrina completed the look with glowing highlighted skin, which soon became a whole new thing in Bollywood.

The viral desert prints

In the song, Katrina Kaif was seen wearing a halter-neck green mini dress with white haphazard stripes, which became the new beachwear rhythm. She then switched to a cap-shoulder, knee-length, white, cheetah-print mini dress with a V-neckline, which eventually became a desert-friendly print. For another scene in the song, Katrina was seen in a floral white and pink cold-shoulder oversize top with simple denim shorts, and unknowingly, she started the cold-shoulder trend in India.

After 19 years, with no competition around

When Disha stepped out in this revamped version, fans instantly found themselves transported to the original one, which was released 19 years ago. The nostalgia hit hard as people soon revisited the original looks from the song and made Katrina’s Y2K wardrobe popular again. From halter necklines to low-rise silhouettes and sparkly detailing, Katrina’s absence proved how iconic she still is and how beautifully she's etched in the pop culture aesthetic in Bollywood.
