Sabyasachi Mukherjee has been the go-to designer for many Bollywood brides. From Anushka Sharma's pastel lehenga,
Deepika Padukone's stunning jewellery to Priyanka Chopra's monochrome ensemble, the designer is ruling the bridal market trends for many Indian and NRI brides. The designer keeps showcasing his new collection on Instagram, which has kept everyone hooked to his stunning ensembles.
While every piece designed by the designer is to die for, there's one bridal lehenga which has been trending a lot since Deepika Padukone's wedding.
Yes, we're talking most gorgeous red lehenga which is named 'Dil-guldasta' which means, 'the heart is a bouquet'. The heavily embroidered lehenga was picked by Deepika for her Mumbai wedding reception hosted by Ranveer Singh's sister, Ritika Bhavnani.
The lehenga seems red, but also has a touch of pink and burgundy with embroidered flowers made with hand-dyed velvet appliques. What's interesting is the inspiration behind the lehenga.
"An antique dealer showed me a stunning carpet called the ‘Dil-guldasta’, which loosely translated means ‘the heart is a bouquet.’ It was vivid and rich; strongly romantic, yet richly evil; full of lush blooms in shades of madder, burgundy and rose. The carpet was not for sale as someone else had already beaten me to it. I was obsessed with it for the longest time till I decided to exorcise my demons by creating a lehenga with the idea of it," the designer disclosed on the label's Instagram account.
Ever since Deepika showcased this piece of art, many Indian and NRI brides have picked this floral lehenga for their big day. Here's a look at all stunning brides in Dil-guldasta lehenga:
