Here are some of the Autumn trends for 2015...
-
The ‘bronde’ look
Blonde and brunette looks are usually seen as separate, but thanks to the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Lauren Conrad, this new hair trend means you can have the best of both worlds. This is a colour technique in which you get a mixture of both blonde and brown, allowing you to have an unusual color which is expected to be one of the key looks for autumn.
1x1 polls
This is perfect for those who are dying their hair for the first time or are reluctant to get something too drastic, as you can work with your natural hair color and adjust accordingly. It’s a very low maintenance look, meaning that you won’t need to spend too much time at the salon for repeat touch ups or treatments. There are some good products available at the drugstore, but I would recommend going to see your favorite stylist for a look that works for your skin tone and natural hair color.
- The curly hair trend
For years, women with straight hair have relied on heated appliances to get any kind of curl in their hair, but something which is set to be a huge trend for Autumn is a new, heat free technique, which is all about creating beautiful curls without frizz. Plus, this look is all about maintaining control over your look, meaning you’ll be able to channel your favorite curly haired celebrity, from Behati Prinsloo to Zoe Kravitz. Start by using a moisturizing masque which help curls to look smooth, then I recommend working a light curl cream through the hair and combing through. Use a large towel or clean t-shirt to wrap around your hair, then twist the two corners so you have two sections on either side of your head, containing the damp curls. Fix the fabric at the top of your head and wait until dry – once let down, this will reveal beautifully defined and soft curls.
- The blunt bob
Last season was all about the ‘lob’ – a long bob – now celebrities are taking the plunge with a blunt bob, which is dramatic but classic looking, suiting an array of stars from Taylor Swift to Emma Stone. This hairstyle is great for the darker autumn colours and compliments the season’s more dramatic looks beautifully. For a classic look, keep the hair straight, or sport some soft waves and a mussed up fringe for a sexier, more lived in look. You can find a bob cut to suit all face shapes, so look to your favorite celebrities for inspiration and embrace one of my favourite trends for a show stopping style.

- Platinum blonde
Searching for something more dramatic which will suit your ongoing personality? Take inspiration from Kim Kardashian West and brave a bleached, platinum blonde look, which will have a fantastic contrast with the dark shades of autumn and winter fashion. As favoured by icons of the past like Debbie Harry and Marilyn Monroe, a bright shade of blonde is great for women who want to create attention with their look. It brightens up pale skin but can also be a playful contrast to darker skin tones. Unless you’re naturally fair, a toner is recommended to prep the hair and avoid any brassiness or orange tones. This colour is very high maintenance, so make sure you treat your locks to a conditioning masque at least once a week to avoid long term damage, as well as a blue shampoo which will keep your colour refreshed and beautiful.
- Beautiful waves
A look we’re seeing more and more each Autumn is waves, as seen on celebrities of different ages, from Julianne Moore’s classic waves for the red carpet to Cara Delevigne’s messy style. Whichever type of wave you go for, make sure you prep the hair with a nourishing oil, then reach for the rollers and a curling tong if you want to achieve the glamor of Hollywood starlets both past and present. For a modern, youthful look, I recommend a texturising spray or cream which should be worked through the hair with fingers for a relaxed finish, and use a small comb to backcomb the hair and fix with plenty of hairspray.
