Friends, Romans, and celebrities

Global fashion moguls attended the funeral service of the ‘last emperor’ of fashion, Valentino Garavani, in Rome, at the Central Basilica di Santa Maria Degli Angeli e Dei Martiri. Following the two-day public viewing at the Valentino Foundation headquarters in Rome, the funeral service was attended by many top names from the fashion industry. From Donatella Versace to Anna Wintour, many Hollywood stars, like Anne Hathaway, also paid their respects. Let’s see all the celebs who made an appearance and created history in style.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway made the trek to Rome to pay her final salute to Valentino, who appeared in the hit 2006 film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. Accompanied by her husband, Adam Schulman, she opted for a chic all-black look that felt fitting for the legendary designer. She simply wore a knee-length classic black coat with black stockings and sunglasses and kept a sophisticated yet elegant avatar.

Elizabeth Hurley

Elizabeth Hurley attended with her son Damian, where she opted for the classic all-black avatar and wore a fitted black velvet jacket over a black dress and carried a matching black statement purse. Leaving her beach curls down, she simply opted for a brown pair of sunglasses and looked anything but basic.

Donatella Versace

Donatella Versace flaunted two statement Valentino looks as a tribute, and we love both of them. She first walked in a super-fitted plain black midi dress and soon changed into a bright red Valentino suit, which was on the cover of Vogue Italia’s February issue. It was her way of paying tribute to her fellow designer, as he lay in state in Rome yesterday.

Anna Wintour

The ‘iron lady’ of the fashion business, Anna Wintour, also marked her presence in a black full-length coat featuring brown fur around the edges and layered it with a vibrant beaded neckpiece, which looked simply iconic. She kept her signature hairstyle with mandatory black sunglasses and stood high by the late designer’s side.
