Two days before his death, Kate had decided to leave Argentina and head back to her home in Miami, while Liam stayed back in Argentina.

Her desire to go home convinced her to fly back to Miami, as Liam decided to stay in Argentina to see his former groupmate Niall Horan, who is touring the country as part of his Latin American tour.
