Skirts go back in history with the Egyptians, Romans and Scots wearing variations of it. Today, there are over 50 skirt styles, the popular ones being pleated, wrap, flare, maxi, mini, A-line, tutu, sarong, skater and pencil skirts.
A-Line skirt – A retro classic, the A-line skirt ca be worn in checks, stripes or even shimmer, to a party. It is perfect for heavier, more curvy figures. Wear it with a narrow belt for a slimmer waistline.
Pencil skirt – A form-fitting pencil skirt makes for apt office dressing. The knee-length skirt can be won with a white shirt or pinstripe blouse.
Maxi skirts – These are longer skirts and flatter almost any body shape. Avoid it if you are shorter. Use a light fabric like chiffon in the maxi skirt for a daytime look.
Denim skirt – A summer staple, the denim skirt can rev up the causal look quite well. Wear light blue denim for a day out and go with a darker-hued denim skirt in the evening. Pair it with a bright pop-colour T-shirt or even a polka dotted one.
Tulle skirt – Light and flirty, the tulle skirt is as feminine as it gets. It can be worn with a blouse or even a sweater. Go with shades of light pink peach and white.
