What is a Lunar Eclipse

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes directly between the Sun and the Moon, causing the Earth's shadow to fall on the Moon. This celestial event happens during a full moon when the three celestial bodies are in a straight line. A lunar eclipse has three main stages: the penumbral phase, the partial eclipse and the total eclipse, where the Moon is fully within the Earth's shadow, turning it a reddish hue, often called the ‘blood moon’. They hold cultural and astrological significance, symbolizing change and renewal in many cultures.

Lunar eclipse in India

On October 28, the year's last lunar eclipse will grace the night sky and will be visible in multiple countries, including India. Much like a solar eclipse, this lunar event is believed to exert a dual influence on individuals, with effects varying according to their zodiac signs. The lunar eclipse this year coincides with the auspicious Sharad Purnima in the Ashwin month. The eclipse will be observable from 1:05 AM to 2:24 AM on the night of October 28, providing a rare opportunity for sky gazers. According to inputs from astrologer Pandit Jagannath Guruji, if one believes in the lunar cycle, certain zodiac signs will reap significant benefits from this upcoming lunar eclipse.

The belief around Lunar eclipses

While solar eclipses signify new beginnings and exciting opportunities, fostering optimism and joy, Lunar eclipses are emotionally intense, prompting self-reflection and the shedding and distancing of what no longer serves us. Thus, during the lunar eclipses it is advised to not make any hasty or erratic decisions and it is wise to surrender yourself to the flow of the universe. It is also the time to reflect and let go of your fears and insecurities and set your position in your life.

What do the experts say

According to Guruji, “ this celestial phenomenon is expected to bring favorable outcomes for specific zodiac signs, namely Gemini, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn. Their lives may be positively influenced during this period.”

5/8

Gemini

Pandit Jagannath Guruji says, “The lunar eclipse can be a boost for their (Gemini’s) creativity and communication skills.”

Lunar eclipse will provide a creative and communicative boost for the Gemini signs. These celestial events can inspire individuals to express themselves more effectively, tapping into their creativity, resulting in a period of heightened self-expression and connection with others.

6/8

Leo

Expert astrologer also says, “Leos, full of charisma and confidence, are in for a phase of self-discovery and growth during the lunar eclipse. This event will illuminate parts of your life needing attention.”

For Leos, a lunar eclipse heralds a phase of self-discovery and personal growth. It may unearth hidden emotions, fears, or unfulfilled desires. Leos will be challenged to confront these elements, facilitating personal evolution and a deeper understanding of themselves. This period can be transformative, pushing them to reassess their goals, relationships, and inner struggles.

7/8

Libra

Pandit Jagannath Guruji, for the Librans says, “For Libras, those who treasure balance and harmony, the lunar eclipse promises a boost in their social and professional life.”

The upcoming eclipse is set to illuminate Libras' innate strengths in networking and building interpersonal connections. It can create new openings for them to fortify their relationships, both in their personal lives and within their professional circles. Libras' reputation as peacemakers and diplomats may become even more pronounced as their natural charm and commitment to fairness shine through. As Libras navigate this phase, they can look forward to a period of harmony and success.

Capricorn

Lastly, for the Capricorns, Pandit Jagannath Guruji says, “known for their practical and disciplined approach, (Capricorns) may find themselves on a path of increased intuition and spiritual awakening during this lunar eclipse.”

The eclipse may act as a catalyst for them to tap into their inner wisdom and explore uncharted aspects of their life. It could lead to a deepening connection with their intuition, which, in turn, can guide them towards profound insights and self-discovery. This transformation could open up new perspectives, prompting Capricorns to embrace a more holistic view of life, combining their practicality with newfound spiritual awareness.
