Baisakhi, the festival that celebrates the institution of Khalsa Panth under the revered tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh is cheerfully welcomed by the Sikh community great zeal every year.
It’s celebrations are usually spread across the Northern belt of India, with Sikh community not just being restricted to one particular state, but the celebrations have their home ground in Punjab, which celebrates Baisakhi with roaring enthusiasm.
Families prepare a good variety of Punjabi delicacies of the traditional Punjabi food items, dance to the drum beats and perform Bhangra and Gidda to mark the celebration and add festive fervour to the spirit of Baisakhi.
