The stories give a complete overview to the reader and are not confined to one genre of crime but cover a wide variety that includes water mafia, forced prostitution and drug peddling among others. The stories are told in third-person perspective and are surprisingly riveting, despite some of the content being quite moving. Nothing out of place for a crime book though and those who are up to date with crime news or read true-crime books will not be surprised. However, those who don't, might find the concept of these women criminals a little disturbing.

Unlike the usual depictions of women criminals in India, these tales do not show them as victims. The tone of the story does not pass judgment on the woman's decisions, just explains what lead her to the path of crime. It's always clear that the decision to indulge in crime was the woman’s and the reader can decide whether to blame circumstances or the woman's morals or both. This book is a great gift for a true-crime lover.
