However his wife and he are spending more time there in another home in Maine and one in Florida, as they have more privacy there according to their attorney, Warren Silver.

His large Victorian mansion, red in colour with an ornate gate made of fantastic creatures draws fans, who like to click a picture with the iconic building in the backdrop. Now the Bangor City Council approved the request by Stephen and Tabitha King to rezone their home as a non-profit entity so they can turn it into an archive of King’s work. They will offer restricted visits and a maximum of five writers can reside at the house next door, which the Kings bought in 2004.
“They did not want the house to become a Dollywood or some kind of tourist attraction,” David Gould, a Bangor planning officer, told New England Cable News. “That would bring all sorts of people to the neighborhood, and they have other neighbors that live there.”
