It was announced back in March that Cara Delevingne, the popular fashion model, actress, singer, and influencer, was writing her debut novel. August 15, it came to notice that Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins, has acquired the U.S. rights to the Young Adult novel penned by Delevingne and will be available on shelves this October 3rd.
The novel, titled
Mirror Mirror, is co-written with author Rowan Coleman, bestselling writer of
The Memory Book. The novel seeks to underline important themes of identity, sexuality, friendship, and betrayal through the tales of four friends: Red, Leo, Naomi, and Rose. Harper promises the readers a “killer midpoint twist” that comes between the friends.
Delevingne said in a press release, “Writing this book with Rowan Coleman has been such a special experience… I loved the process of creating the characters and developing the storyline. I am so proud and I cannot wait for everyone to read this collaboration between me and one of my favorite writers.”
Delevingne first came to the forefront when she won the title of Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2012 and 2014, following her work with some of the most prestigious fashion houses like Chanel, Saint Laurent, and Burberry. In 2012, she ventured into acting and has since starred in blockbuster movies like
Paper Towns and
Suicide Squad.
