What is snow fungus or tremella mushroom?

There isn’t much chance of confusing tremella mushrooms with the usual button mushrooms, as their unique coral reef look with thin white ruffles makes up the majority of the fungus and is an elixir for your dead-looking skin. It is an edible fungus that grows on damp or dead hardwood trees and is found in subtropical regions of Asia, Australia, North America, and New Zealand. While mushrooms are traditionally consumed, one can apply snow fungus for radiant and youthful skin. Let’s see 5 reasons why you should apply products rich in snow fungus on the skin.

2/6

Enjoy a patch of hydration

When it comes to skin hydration, simply start applying products rich in tremella mushrooms that lock in your skin’s moisture by protecting the skin’s natural barrier. This ruffled mushroom prevents water loss from the skin and helps your upper barrier look more naturally elastic, hydrated, plump, and shiny.

Acts as an effective antioxidant

Antioxidants help to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, and snow fungus is brimming with them. By applying products with snow fungus over time, you will find ease in a range of issues, such as uneven pigmentation, dryness, wrinkles, lines, sagging, age spots, crepey skin, and broken blood vessels. The anti-ageing effects of tremella mushrooms also reduce the damage caused by free radicals in the body.

Brimming with anti-inflammatory properties

Skin inflammation caused by irritants and allergens in the environment also reacts with our skin, leading to itching, swelling, dryness, redness, and breakouts. Tremella mushrooms have been found to possess active anti-inflammatory properties that act as therapeutic agents for the treatment of inflammation-related skin issues.

Reduces UV damage

The concentration formula of tremella effectively alleviates the skin damage caused by UVA and reduces the impact of UVA damage on the skin. However, it is not enough, as the sun’s UVA and UVB rays are very harsh, but as your daily protection in winters, it keeps your skin safe and is found in high-quality mineral sunscreens.

Acts as a natural moisturiser

As it draws moisture to the skin, it works similarly to hyaluronic acid and maintains the natural barrier of your skin. Tremella mushroom holds almost 500 times its weight in water and provides the skin with a huge hit of hydration. Apply the products rich in tremella three times a week and enjoy a glowing complexion with naturally moisturised skin.
