What is an Emulsion?

Emulsions are a lighter and more watery way of traditional moisturizing creams and lotions. They are lightweight, have a non-sticky formula, and are watered down while getting absorbed into the skin faster.

Benefits of Emulsion

Having a lightweight formula, it hydrates the skin, fortifies skin barriers, absorbs easily, and also prevents the skin from acne and breakouts.

How to use it?

Emulsions are usually used after a serum but before sealing it in a moisturizer. One can choose an emulsion or a cream to finish the skincare routine or can add both for extra hydration.

The difference between an emulsion and a moisturizer

The product used in both processes hydrates the skin and locks the moisture level of our skin, thus trapping all the hydration and potent ingredients. But emulsions include a water-based and oil-free formula that absorbs into the skin much faster.

Difference between usage of only serum, without emulsion

Serums have a thin formula containing a few active ingredients that solve issues of dull complexion and acne scars. Emulsions contain active ingredients that hydrate the skin and thus can be said to be a hybrid of serum ingredients.

Which skin type benefits the most?

The emulsion trend is suitable for all skin types but works best for oily and sensitive skin and skin types that are prone to acne breakouts.
