Away from the regular clichés of flowers, chocolates and jewellery on Valentine’s Day the serious at heart lovers are taking the cosmetic procedures’ route to look their best on V-day.
As people get more creative with Valentines’ Day ideas, beauty and youth are scoring high on their charts this year too.
According to cosmetic surgeon Dr K M Kapoor of Anticlock Medispa, the hottest trend of the season is ‘plumping up those lips’ with lip fillers.This is a treatment sought by women in all age groups for lip augmentation, correction of lip asymmetry, gummy smile and treatment of vertical smoker’s lines above the upper lip. Looking at the popularity, doctors are also offering discounts on lip augmentation with fillers for the month of February.
The second most in demand is the all new ‘Vampire facelift’ – which is a lunch hour facelift, a minimally invasive skin treatment using ones own plasma, which gives a glowing skin on a special day with the loved one. A classic photo shot which is going to be their profile picture for long, is all they want.
The adventurous ones are also going in for total body hair reduction with lasers (for both men and women), botox to make those wrinkles disappear, while the conservatives are making opting for oxygen facials, back polishing with micro-dermabrasion (to sport those sexy backless blouses), and microneedling to get rid of those acne scars.
Says Akriti Sehgal, a designer, “Even if you aren’t going to propose to a guy or girl, those who are married, or in a relationship too want to look good on Valentine’s Day. Such has become the significance of this day that it is special for couples.”
Sandeep Tejpal, an aspiring model says, “It is also a good time to avail of discounts. Since botox etc are offering schemes around this time, for anyone wanting a periodic touch-up to their earlier procedures, this is a wise time!”
