Treat your skin right
We may have finished celebrating Basant Panchami, yet winter chills still hover around us especially from evening to early mornings, while simultaneously the days get warmer. This kind of mixed climate leaves our bodies and skins extremely confused and vulnerable. Most times, our outermost skin layer called the epidermis as also the skin barrier becomes excessively dry after bath time and/or during the night time.
Obviously the fatty lipids making up the skin barrier is depleted, so don’t let the skin remain in this parched and inflamed state; bolster it with natural oils such as Jojoba, Virgin Coconut, Hemp, etc. and nourish it back to its plump, bouncy, glowing state. You may need more than just oils for that, so freely indulge it with heavy moisturisers, and skin balms and butters. These will add a much-required, additional fatty layer to your skin barrier and gradually restore it to full wellness.

This in-between kind of climate that we are experiencing makes us and our skin feel parched. But don’t mistake this feeling to mean that the more you wash your face, the more moist it will feel. In fact, you could not be farther from the facts than with that thought; excessive washing of your face, hands, and overall skin in this climate will have adverse effects and even end up giving your skin rashes.
Here’s what not to do this season. Firstly, avoid long baths. They have counteractive effects on your being. And avoid hot showers at all costs, unless your aim is to strip your skin of all its natural oils. Secondly, avoid abrasive, chemical based treatments. If we’re warning you against hot showers, chemicals will wear your skin down in a worse fashion. Hence, your best bet is to use the most natural, aroma free and mildest cleansers, toners, moisturisers and other emollients possible, that you can lay your hands on.

While all the options work well, using a product like Profhilo helps that much more as it’s injected into your skin and works its way from the inside out.
Moisturising your skin and it barrier, from the inside as well as on the outside, is the best way to a healthy, clear, glowing skin. This Valentine’s month, remember this singular tip and make yourself your personal Valentine.
