The importance of correct skin hydration in the monsoons
The monsoons may bring cooler weather and some relief from the summer heat, but they also bring a whole new set of skincare challenges - excess humidity, dullness of skin and a higher risk of breakouts. To tackle this, one of the basic and essential steps in your rainy season skincare routine is Skin Hydration.
Contrary to what many believe, oily or sticky skin in the monsoon doesn’t mean your skin is well-hydrated. In fact, the high sebum production by your skin can mask underlying skin dryness beneath the surface. This imbalance can in turn lead to clogged pores, dullness, and acne flare-ups.
Skipping the right hydration during monsoons may cause you to enter into a loop of excessive oiliness, leading to clogged pores and a cycle of whiteheads, blackheads and acne breakouts. The simplest way of avoiding this is by following correct skin hydration. Depending upon your lifestyle, you may also choose to use a fast absorbing non-comedogenic cream as a moisturising base. This may sometimes help to calm dry skin and keep its skin barrier safe.
