Kim Kardashian takes her love for bizarre beauty treatments to Korea

When it comes to pushing the boundaries of beauty, no one does it quite like Kim Kardashian. The 44-year-old reality TV mogul, entrepreneur, and self-proclaimed skincare junkie has never been one to shy away from bizarre, OTT treatments and her latest girls’ trip to Korea was no exception.


Joined by her sister Khloé Kardashian, besties La La Anthony and Stephanie Suganami, and beauty expert Vanessa Lee from The Things We Do, Kim dived headfirst into Korea’s famed cutting-edge skincare scene. She documented the adventure with a series of snaps that had fans equal parts intrigued and squeamish.



In one now-viral photo, Kim’s brows and hairline are taped down, possibly to protect them during an intense laser session – her face flushed bright red. In another, she’s seen mid-procedure, as a professional injects a mysterious black substance (rumoured to be blood) into her arm. And honestly, if it’s weird and involves needles, Kim is usually the first to sign up.

This is, after all, the woman who brought the world’s attention to Dr. Barbara Sturm’s infamous “Vampire Facial” back in 2013, a treatment that involves drawing your blood, separating the plasma, and microneedling it back into your skin for that elusive glow. Since then, she’s tried everything from gold-infused facials to the much-talked-about salmon sperm facial (yes , really), a trend allegedly also favoured by Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Aniston.


Not to be outdone, Khloé got in on the action too, sharing her own photo with her face wrapped in gauze and smothered in mysterious goop. Clearly, the Kardashian sisters have no fear when it comes to beauty experimentation, the weirder, the better.


Korea, known as the global capital of cosmetic innovation, is a playground for beauty obsessives. With its blend of efficiency, high-tech treatments, and flawless results, it’s no wonder Kim felt right at home trying some of their most out-there procedures.
