It’s very common to feel upset when you discover that your child has contracted head lice. These tiny parasites can cause panic and rushed decisions, but remember, they are simply a transmissible condition, using your child as a human host to survive. While the instinct might be to cut the hair short, there are far more effective and easy-to-do home remedies that can work their magic quickly, putting both you and your child at ease
Try the vinegar rinseThis remedy is commonly recommended by people and has been used for a long time. Vinegar destroys lice and stops their eggs from hatching because of its acidic prowess. Just add a few drops of vinegar to water and dilute it. Now, apply this to your scalp and leave it for a few minutes. Make sure to thoroughly rinse your hair post the session and follow this nearly every day for a week for the best results.

Neem to the rescueNeem is commonly found in many lice-killing shampoos and oils and claims to be very effective. But why not directly apply the paste and let the magic work? Neem is effective against many insects, and lice are just another one of them. Extract some fresh neem leaves and add 2 tablespoons of water and vinegar.
Create a paste and apply it like a hair mask for 30 minutes. You can also rinse your hair every day with neem water and directly apply it to the scalp.
Utilise your olive oilOlive oil is another unconventional management option when it comes to head lice infestation. This oil-based remedy suffocates the lice in the head and prevents their movement. You can straightaway apply olive oil on the scalp and strands every alternate day, followed by your usual shampoo session, where you can extract the dead ones using the sharp combs. It's best if you leave the oil overnight for better results.
