How to make the ultimate beauty kadha

A beauty kadha is a natural, traditional herbal drink that purifies your skin from within, giving it a healthy, radiant glow. Made with simple kitchen ingredients like haldi (turmeric), lemon, tulsi, and honey, this soothing concoction works wonders for detoxifying the body and improving skin health. Here’s how you can make the ultimate beauty kadha at home:

2/7

Boil the base

Start by boiling 2 cups of water in a pan. This forms the base of your kadha. Always use filtered water to ensure purity and better taste. Boiling helps release the active compounds from the herbs added later, making the kadha more effective. Ensure the water reaches a gentle boil to properly extract the flavours and nutrients.

3/7

Add haldi (turmeric)

Add half a teaspoon of haldi powder or a small piece of raw turmeric. Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that help fight acne and naturally brighten the skin. The curcumin in turmeric also supports liver detoxification, which reflects in your skin’s clarity. Stir well to ensure the turmeric dissolves completely, giving the kadha a uniform golden hue.

4/7

Include tulsi and ginger

Add 4 to 5 tulsi leaves and a small piece of crushed ginger. Tulsi helps purify the blood, while ginger improves circulation and adds warmth, enhancing the body’s natural glow. Tulsi also strengthens immunity and protects against seasonal illnesses. Ginger’s antioxidants help combat free radicals, slowing down premature skin aging.

5/7

Mix in lemon juice

Once the kadha has slightly cooled, squeeze in half a lemon. Lemon is rich in vitamin C, which boosts collagen production and helps maintain youthful, glowing skin. It also balances the body’s pH and aids digestion, both of which contribute to healthier skin. Be sure to add lemon only after cooling slightly to preserve its nutrients and avoid bitterness.

6/7

Sweeten with honey

Add a teaspoon of honey for natural sweetness and hydration. Honey is a natural humectant that keeps your skin soft and moisturised from within. It also has antibacterial properties that help reduce acne and blemishes. Stir thoroughly to blend the honey evenly and enhance the kadha’s soothing effect.

7/7

Strain and sip warm

Strain the kadha into a cup and sip it warm. Drinking this beauty kadha regularly in the morning or before bedtime helps detoxify your system, promoting clear, radiant skin over time. Sipping it warm also improves digestion and relaxes the body, maximising the benefits of the herbs. Consistency is key, so make it a part of your daily wellness routine for the best results.
