Have you tried the minion nail art yet?

Inspired by the upcoming movie, minions have become a popular nail art trend in the last couple of days. Fans are leaving no stones unturned to show their love for the small, yellow, cylindrical, creatures.
After making their mark on T-shirts, mugs and even mobile covers, minions have now found a place on fingernails. “Girls are thrilled to have little minions on their nails.It’s exciting for them to follow this trend as it is easy to do. Most of them prefer to have them on their fingers when they are going to watch the movie. Some moms are also getting it to impress their kids,” says Mumbai-based salon owner, Preeti Harkare.
Already a trend in the west, you can try variations of this nail art by experimenting with colours and glitter. You can paint the minions on all your nails or just one nail, depending on how you like it.
- File your nails and apply a base coat to protect and create a smooth and strong base
- Paint electric blue (or any other inky blue colour) on your thumb, forefinger and little finger. Paint the middle finger and ring finger a bright yellow
- Now, take a dotting tool and put tiny yellow polka dots on the fingers painted blue. In case you don’t have a dotting tool, you can use the pointed part of a toothpick
- On the two fingers painted yellow, make a thick black line, leaving a little space from the base of the nail
- On the middle finger, take a bigger dotting tool (or the back side of a toothpick) and make two pale blue dots in the middle of the black line for eyes
- Make another smaller white dot inside the pale blue ones. Follow the same process with only one dot for the ring finger to finish the one eyed minion. Let it dry
- Take the same electric blue used to paint the three fingers and do a straight French tip on the yellow nails. Draw a straight line with the nail polish brush and fill in the gaps. Let it dry for two minutes
- Finally, make a tiny black dot in the centre of the white dot to finish the eyes
- Use a paint brush and make a curved smile to finish your cute minion nail art
- Seal the nail art with a top coat and you are ready to flaunt your cool minion nail art
