You have loved flowers all your life, be it your peppy floral sundress that you pick up on a day you are feeling particularly low, your jasmine eau de cologne or the riot of colours bouquet gifted to you on your birthday.
Now the latest good news for flower babies is flower therapy a hot new procedure that is catching up fast among those who want to de-stress themselves, and also crave for a rose tinted, flawless complexion at the same time.

Beauty experts in the city say that since flowers do not have any side effects and come loaded with goodness of nature, the therapy has become an instant hit.
Talking about the therapeutic properties of flowers, Hitender Chabra, a city-based aromatherapist says, Different flowers are used for different healing purposes. Lavender has magical properties it is an excellent antiseptic. It works wonders in cases of allergies, acne, excess oil secretion, pigmentation and open pores and therefore it tops the list. Marigold and sunflower penetrate the skin very well and impart a very nice glow.
Jasmine is a blessing for hypersensitive skin. And whats more, its apparently the visual impact of flowers and their fragrance that has a high healing effect on our senses, which helps to de-stress the mind and in turn enhance our skin, say experts. Do we not experience a happy feeling when we enter a florists shop? Looking at flowers arrangements has a deep impact on ones state of mind and generates happy emotions. Their fragrance too rejuvenates the senses and pep up our moods, explains Kulsum Malik, a city based therapist. Though flowers can help you feel happier, its not enough to just have a few flower petals added in the therapy, or to have a bouquet lying around in the therapy room. What actually matters is creating a complete environment. A peaceful environment has to be created because that makes a lot of difference, she says.
Interestingly, the goodness of flower is doubled when mixed with other herbal products. We mix flower pastes with tea bark, fruit pulp and a few other ayurvedic ingredients to enhance the healing properties of flowers, though cream and aloe vera gel are also used along with floral paste for treatments, adds Chabra.
As Jaipurites queue up for a healthy mind and body, experts say that though the concept is new in the city, flowers have been used for long to enhance beauty and to keep healthy. Indian rose has been used by Mughal queens for making their skin soft, supple and fair while Chinese women drink Chrysanthemum soup to cleanse their digestive system and also to keep bacterial infection at bay, says Malik.
