Concealer hacks for covering any type of skin concern

Concealers, as you know it, serves as a cure-all for several skin concerns. However, the way you apply this product is very important. If you use it the wrong way, it can leave your complexion looking too flat, too flaky or too chalky. Hence, we're here with some information on how to make the right use of concealer for any kind of skin concern.

2/6

Dark circles

Your dark circles need to be corrected before you go in with a concealer. Usually, the area under your eyes has a bluish-purple appearance. To counteract this tone, you need to use a mixture of a yellow and orange colour corrector. It neutralizes the darkness. Make sure the area is well-moisturised before you start with colour correcting and then go in with a little bit of concealer with a beauty blender or a concealer brush.

3/6

Pimples

When a zit has too much redness, you need to start by using a green colour corrector first. Gently apply a yellow-based concealer to cover it with a small pointed brush. Set it with powder and then use a concealer on top. Make sure the concealer has a thick and dry consistency to adhere to the protrusion.

4/6

Fine lines

You need minimal products to treat fine lines. Moisturise your skin first and foremost. Then use a water-based or a moisturising concealer. Tap it into place and don't drag it. Top it off with a translucent loose powder with a light hand. Make sure the powder is micro-fine in its appearance and preferably hydrating.

5/6

Redness

Redness that is caused by blemishes or chronic sensitivity can be tricky to hide. That's where a colour correcting concealer comes into the picture. A green concealer can neutralize redness or any kind of discolouration on the skin. Once you complete your skincare routine, use a green concealer sparingly on the red parts of your face and blend it well. Then, go in with a flesh-toned concealer on top of it before you set it all with a translucent powder.

6/6

Hyperpigmentation

Firstly, make sure that your skin is prepped and primed before you start with your make-up. Colour correct the pigmented area. Remember to pick a more pigmented colour corrector instead of a sheet one for maximum coverage. Pat it on the pigmented area with a beauty blender and then top it off with a concealer and a full-coverage foundation. Set it all in with a translucent powder.
