Whether it’s your combs, brushes, blow dryer, curlers or flat iron, if you want healthy hair, it’s essential to maintain your hair tools too. Try the following tips to clean your tools:
- For your flat and curling irons, use water to clean them. Always use a wet microfiber cloth dipped in water as it is soft and will not scratch out the surface of the iron and ruin it.

- If you use a lot of oil or styling products, you will notice that your hair tools will have stains on them. To get rid of these stubborn grease marks, water isn’t enough. So opt for baking soda powder. Mix this powder with water to form a paste and apply it on the stains with your fingers or a really soft toothbrush. Rinse off the paste and dry the equipment with a cloth.
- If you want your blow dryer to last longer, you’ll have to regularly clean it at home. At the back of your dryer, in the vent, you’ll see a lot of dust bunnies accumulated. Simply pull out these particles with a pair of tweezers. If the particles are too small, use a vacuum cleaner to suck the dust out!
