5 desi ubtans to get rid of facial hair

Facial hair can be a pesky concern for many, and while salon treatments exist, natural home remedies have been trusted for centuries. Desi ubtans or herbal pastes made from kitchen and Ayurvedic ingredients which helps in reducing the appearance of facial hair over time without harsh chemicals. Regular application not only slows hair growth but also brightens the skin and evens out texture. Here are 5 traditional Indian ubtan recipes that are easy to make and gentle on the skin. Choose what suits you best and incorporate it into your skincare routine for visible, natural results.

Besan and turmeric ubtan

Besan, or gram flour, is known for its cleansing properties and ability to stick to fine hair, while turmeric slows hair growth. Mix 2 tablespoons of besan with a pinch of turmeric and enough milk or rosewater to form a thick paste. Apply on your face, let it semi-dry and gently scrub off using circular motions. Repeat 3 times a week. Over time, this ubtan weakens hair roots, making the hair fall off naturally and gradually reducing regrowth.

Moong dal and orange peel ubtan

Moong dal is rich in protein and exfoliates the skin while targeting facial hair. Dry and grind 2 tablespoons of soaked moong dal and mix with 1 tablespoon of orange peel powder and raw milk to make a paste. Apply this on your face and let it dry. Scrub off gently using wet fingers. The gritty texture helps pull out hair from the surface, and the orange peel adds a brightening effect. Use it twice a week for best results.

Oatmeal and banana ubtan

This soothing ubtan works for sensitive skin. Oatmeal acts as a mild exfoliant and banana nourishes while loosening facial hair. Mash half a ripe banana and add 1 tablespoon of finely ground oats. Apply the mixture to your face, leave it for 15 minutes, and scrub off in circular motions. Regular use helps reduce hair over time and also improves skin texture. Ideal for dry skin types, this ubtan doubles as a natural glow booster.

Potato juice has natural bleaching properties and when combined with lentils, it helps weaken facial hair roots. Soak 2 tablespoons of yellow lentils overnight and grind into a paste. Add 2 tablespoons of potato juice and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply to the face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Scrub it off once dry.
