Brahmanda Guruji came to limelight as a participant in the first season of Kannada reality show, Bigg Boss, hosted by Sudeep. He had earlier worked in Kannada movies like Uppi Dada MBBS, Kalarali Hoovagi and Kurubanarani, to name a few. The spiritual leader made an appearance on a controversial show like Bigg Boss which made him a popular household name and also garner a lot of eyeballs. The guru was also famous for some of his phrases like 'mundamoch'.

The actor and former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Pradeep, who is popularly known as Tsunami Kitty, was arrested by Bengaluru police in connection with the allegeged kidnapping and assault of two men. Post the incident a lot of people did not want to keep any ties with him.

Rishi Kumara Swamiji is a spiritual guru with a large following. He appeared on reality show Bigg Boss Kannada and the show got him in the public eye. One of the reasons for him to be a controversial contestant on the show was because of his lacks of fondness for Narendra Babu Sharma (Brahmanda Guruji) which garnered a lot of attention.

Bigg Boss Kannada winner Pratham went live on Facebook announcing that he was going to take his life as he felt humiliated by comments that a colleague from the industry had made about him on social media.

He had consumed a few sleeping pills live on camera and said this would be his last Facebook interaction. He added that he hoped to have instilled some shame in the minds of others who put up derogatory remarks on social media, similar to what he suffered from a director. Though the actor survived, the tv star was condemned for his act.

One of the most controversial names in the industry, Huccha Venkat rose to fame on television with the reality show Bigg Boss. He was thrown out of the house as he had physically assaulted a co-contestant. Later the TV star shocked the industry by attempting suicide at his farmhouse last year.

The 34-year-old took the drastic step after Rachana, his co-contestant on reality television show Super Jodi, rejected his marriage proposal. Huccha Venkat allegedly consumed phenyl to end his life after sending text messages to Rachana. The controversial star wanted to marry Rachana after falling in love during their participation on the show.

Jayalakshmi, also known as ‘Nurse’ Jayalakshmi, who was in the limelight after releasing photographs of a kiss between herself and former excise minister MP Renukacharya, was one of the contestants of Bigg Boss Kannada.

She came into the limelight because of a long drawn media drama between a the politician and his wife with Jayalakshmi in the middle. This resulted in a failed suicide attempt by her.

The reality show made her a household name. The reality star was also in the news a few months ago for her involvement in a road rage incident.
