Inteha: Of a brat, killer & dumb babe

Inteha is watchable if you just want to watch a few pleasant faces, listen to so-so music and aren't too hung-up on loopholes in the plot.

1x1 polls

One. A stranger sends you huge pictures of yourself, shot without your knowledge/consent, stalks you, and then sends you his address. So what do you, a young girl still in college, do?

a. Walk into his home

b. Go in there with a bunch of friends

c. Freak out and call the police

Two. This guy''s trying to bump you off, and he always turns up wherever you go -- especially if it''s dark, deserted and spooky. He''s tried to kill you twice, so when you get to a third such spot, you:

a. Walk in

b. Wait till daylight

c. Wait for daylight AND for more people

Three. You''re in the baddie''s shoes and there''s this babe who''s threatening to thwart your plans time and again. You get a chance to bump her off and you:

a. Ask her to apologise and leave

b. Leave her in a grave with a bagful of snakes, hoping they''ll finish her off

c. Kill her

If you want to get under the skin of Inteha, pick the answer that makes the least sense.

Nauheed Cyrusi plays Tina, a spoilt brat, who discovers a few months before her father dies, that he has not just a mistress, but also another daughter. Dad leaves Brat in the care of foster sis Nandini (Vidya Malavde), who gives up her boyfriend so that she can bring up Tina.

Enter Ranbir Oberoi (Ashmit Patel), who sweeps Tina off her feet. Nandini advises caution, only to be told, humph! She’s the foster sis after all. So Nandini tries to get to know Ranbir. In the process, she discovers that the man has a sinister past. A couple of meaningless scenes later -- during which, the one man who could give Nandini details about Ranbir''s murky past is bumped off and her friend killed -- Nandini decides to give in to what Ranbir wants, and get out of Tina''s life. She then sets about getting into his life in the past - and discovers why she needs to rush back to Tina and stop her from marrying Ranbir.

Ashmit looks suitably menacing in his debut. Since his role doesn''t require him to look anything other than that, we''ll just have to wait and see how he grows. Vidya is passable as the hysterical/suspicious sister. Nauheed Cyrusi has two stock expressions -- cute and sullen. Even spoilt brats must feel more than that!

The movie''s OK if you just want to watch a few pleasant faces, listen to so-so music and aren''t too hung-up on loopholes in the plot. It''s watchable as long as you don''t ask yourself, why a woman who has just tracked down a killer can''t use her cell phone to call the police.

Or why a man, who has witnessed a murder doesn''t go to the police, but readily talks to the first woman who asks him about the murder. Or how the murderer always manages to find rich girls who conveniently live near hillsides that he can topple them off. Or why... well... you get the drift.
