AYODHYA: Election Commission has issued a notice to BJP MP from Kaiserganj and former president of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for organising a grand road show in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda in violation of the model code of conduct. FIRs have also been registered against Singh, a six-time MP, for holding the road show without permission from the administration.
A fleet of 25-30 SUVs and four-wheelers were part of the road show on Thursday, which passed through Karnailganj, Khargupur and Parasrampur areas of Gonda that come under the Kaiserganj constituency that Singh represented since 2009. Interestingly, Singh, who is hopeful of a BJP ticket from the constituency, did not use the party flag in his roadshow.
