through which a motorcade of Trinamool heavyweights was set to pass for a meeting.


When the crowd refused to budge, police chased them with lathis. Minutes later, a few youths rushed towards Trinamool Chhatra Parishad president Trinankur Bhattacharya’s car and banged on it, prompting police to lathicharge again. The mob then converged on Kanchrapara station and blocked several trains.
