Woman, lover given life term for husband's murder in 2020

Agra: A local court in Aligarh has sentenced a 40-year-old woman and her lover to life imprisonment on Friday for murder of her husband four years ago, reports Mohammad Dilshad.

Additional district govt counsel Swarnlata Verma said, "The court of additional district judge Rajesh Kumar has also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on each of the convicts. The murder had occurred on Dec 4, 2020, in Chandaniya Colony under the Quarsi police station jurisdiction."

Ganga Prasad, of Chandaniya, said his son, Satish Kumar (30), had married Saroj, wife of a neighbour, five years ago. Saroj, a mother of four, was living with Satish since their marriage. During this time, she became involved with one Kapil Kumar. Saroj, with Kapil's assistance, strangled Satish to death. After an extensive probe and legal proceedings, court found both Saroj and Kapil guilty of murder.

"Following the investigation, Saroj and Kapil were arrested, and they remained in jail until their sentencing on Friday," the ADGC added.
