It was our morning safari in Bijrani zone of Corbett. The initial 1.5 hours was totally no-show. Heard a Kakad's call and waited there for almost 45 minutes. We had given up our hopes but suddenly a huge male tiger came out, making a charismatic roadshow, marking his territory.
A fierce tiger holds a lifeless deer in his jaws, muscles bulging with the exertion of a successful hunt. He rests under a tree, basking in the satisfaction of his kill. The scene is a stark reminder of the brutal nature of the wild, where only the strongest survive.
On a safari in Jim Corbett, we saw a magnificent tiger emerge from the shadows, his golden fur glistening in the sunlight. He was massive, with piercing eyes that seemed to look straight into my soul. For a moment, we all stood there, as if frozen in time.
We had gone to Pench tiger reserve to see tiger cubs. On our initial safaris, we could only get a glimpse of the tigress named Baras. Earlier, two of her cubs were killed. The next day on our last safari, Pench did not disappoint. We saw Baras with her remaining cub.
