NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwant Mann on taking oath as the Punjab chief minister on Wednesday, assuring him of working together for the growth and welfare of the state and its people.
"Will work together for the growth of Punjab and welfare of the state's people," PM Modi tweeted.

After swearing in as the chief minister of Punjab, Mann said the AAP government will usher in a golden era of Punjab.
"This oath of change, taken for the happiness of Punjab and fulfilling the dreams of the martyrs, will bring colours of happiness in Punjab," he tweeted in Hindi.
With Mann inviting the residents of Punjab to attend his oath-taking ceremony, saying the three crore people of the state would also take oath with him, the Aam Aadmi Party supporters from across the state started reaching Khatkar Kalan in large numbers since Wednesday morning.
The AAP got a historic mandate in Punjab winning 92 seats in the 117-member assembly on March 10.
