Many consumers are now keen to park away their anxieties by buying bite-sized insurance products and thereby live a more carefree life

Sid works out regularly at his neighbourhood Gold Gym. One Saturday, as he gets ready to hit the weights, his fitness app suggests that he take a Rs 5 injury insurance. Last year, Sid had torn his calf muscle, and had to spend a packet on physiotherapy and other ways to fix it. So he clicks OK to buy the insurance.

Later that day, Sid has a lunch meeting with friends in Mumbai's Bandra and decides to take an Ola cab. As he’s booking, the Ola app asks if he wants to pay Rs 1 extra to insure his trip to cover any risk of accident, loss of baggage, or theft at home while travelling. It’s a tiny amount and Sid is fine paying it.
