What PM Modi gifted US First Lady Jill Biden

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday presented US President Joe Biden a special sandalwood box, handcrafted by a master craftsman from Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The box contains an idol of Lord Ganesha, a diya (oil lamp), a copper plate, and silver boxes which contain Das Danam or ten donations - a fragrant piece of sandalwood, white sesame seeds and other items.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden presented PM Modi with a handmade, antique American book galley from the early 20th Century. President Biden also gifted PM Modi a vintage American camera, accompanied by an archival facsimile print of George Eastman’s patent of the first Kodak camera, and a hardcover book of American wildlife photography.

First Lady Jill Biden gifted the Prime Minister a signed, first edition copy of “Collected Poems of Robert Frost.”
