Bypolls results live updates: Mamata Banerjee wins Bhowanipore bypolls by more than 58,000 votes
The counting of votes for the West Bengal bypolls is under way amid heavy security deployment. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who had lost the assembly elections from Nandigram earlier this year, is up against BJP's Priyanka Tibrewal and CPM's Srijib Biswas in Bhabanipur in south Kolkata. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee won a landslide victory from home turf Bhowanipore by over 58,000 votes on Sunday.Trinamool Congress workers and supporters celebrated outside the residence of Mamata in Kolkata as she won by 58,832 votes in Bhowanipore bypolls. Altogether, 21 rounds of counting were held in the constituency.
