NEW DELHI: Missile scientist V K Saraswat will take over as the new chief of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) when the present incumbent M Natarajan retires on September 1.
Saraswat, a Padma Shri awardee, is the chief controller R&D (missiles and strategic systems) in DRDO at present. He has been a key figure behind crucial projects like the one for the Agni series of nuclear-capable ballistic missiles as well as the one for the theatre defence system.
