SHIMLA: Cool climes of Himachal Pradesh is witnessing political heat gaining momentum as elections are drawing closer.
While the recent rains have brought down the temperature, it is the leaders who are now losing their cool and have indulged in war of words.
Union minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday had attacked chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal-led BJP government in the state on different issues, while a day later Dhumal retaliated by saying that Virbhadra Singh appears to be perturbed due to some reasons best known to him crossing all decency of his age and status.

Virbhadra Singh on Friday had blamed Dhumal of playing dirty politics. He had claimed that foundation stones laid by him, late first chief minister of state Dr Y S Parmar and Ram Lal Thakur are being removed.
Expressing his surprise over Virbdara Singh's statement, Dhumal said Dhumal said that no wise person would replace the foundation stone of anyone as government was always in continuity. Dhumal said when he had announced the launching of 'Yashwant Gurukul Awas Yojna' named after former chief minister Dr Y S Parmar, all the members of state legislative assembly had welcomed it, except Virbhadra Singh.
"Why Virbhadra Singh is equating himself with Dr Parmar who had made good contribution in overall development of the state whereas the contribution by Virbhadra Singh was almost negligible in comparison and every Himachali was well aware of it," he alleged. Dhumal said it is well known fact that it was during the regime of Virbhadra Singh that original Gazette of district Shimla was destroyed, the reasons best known to him.
People still wonder, what made him do the same as the Gazette contained information about his acts and omissions which he did not want that it should be revealed to the people of the state.
People know that by issuing irrelevant statements, the contents contained in the audio CD (cassette) cannot be changed as people know the source of the CD and the person whose voices are recorded therein and those who had released the same. "It was Virbhadra Singh who had taken this matter to the court and case was filed in the high court in 2007 when Virbhadra Singh was the chief minister," he added.
