NEW DELHI: A distressing video doing rounds on social media showed a car speeding through Bengaluru streets with dogs on its roof, completely unsecured by any harness or restraint.

The video, shared by the X account "Karnataka Portfolio," shows the driver’s reckless actions and claims this isn't the first instance of such dangerous behavior. "These guys were spotted earlier in Kalyan Nagar, too. The sight of dogs precariously placed on a moving car is deeply disturbing, posing immense danger to the animals and potential harm to other road users," read the caption accompanying the video.

In the video, the car was seen speeding along the highway, with the helpless dogs gripping onto the roof. Such negligence, the account said, is not only inhumane but a gross violation of traffic and animal safety laws.


"This act of negligence is a blatant disregard for the safety of animals and people alike. Authorities must act swiftly by identifying the individual, filing an FIR, seizing the vehicle, and ensuring strict consequences. This is crucial to send a clear message against such irresponsible acts," the account said, tagging the Bengaluru Police.

The video has drawn widespread criticism from the public, with many condemning the driver's actions and calling for immediate intervention.

One user commented, "Waiting for the Bengaluru police to announce an arrest—this behavior is unacceptable." Another added, "Hope the authorities educate him on traffic rules and animal safety!"
