MUMBAI: Actor and TV host Aman Verma filed a criminal complaint against India TV channel before a metropolitan court on Monday for conducting a "sting operation" on him, with an intention to blackmail and extort money.

<div class="section0"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-size:="">MUMBAI: Actor and TV host Aman Verma filed a criminal complaint against India TV channel before a metropolitan court on Monday for conducting a "sting operation" on him, with an intention to blackmail and extort money.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">The complaint which was filed by Verma''s counsel Dipesh Mehta at the Andheri court names India TV channel, CEO Rajat Sharma, programme manager Suhaib Ilyasi and "supposed" journalist Ruchi as the accused.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">The complaint states that the video-recording of the "sting operation" was not aired by the channel for more than three months, until the day after the actor lodged a police complaint.

It also alleges that the tapes had been doctored and manipulated as per the requirements of the accused.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">The matter will be heard next on April 26 before the 22nd metropolitan magistrate court at Andheri.</span></div> </div>
