Vedanta Aluminium launches 'Panchhi - Sapno Ka Udaan' program

Aluminium producer Vedanta Aluminium has introduced the 'Panchhi - Sapno Ka Udaan' program in Odisha's Sundargarh district, an initiative aim to recruit and educate socio-economically disadvantaged girls in the Jamkani coal mining project areas.

Sixteen local girls from villages like Girisima, Jamkani, Jharapalam, and Mendra participated in the event. Sundargarh Sub-Collector Dasharathi Saraboo distributed identity cards to the participants.

The initiative aims to fulfill the aspirations of young women in mining areas by providing job opportunities and aiding in completing their education.



V Srikanth, CEO of Vedanta's Mining Division, said that the program's potential is to improve the prospects of girls from displaced families. "The program, conceived by Vedanta's founder chairman Mr Anil Agarwal, offers job opportunities and support for higher education to girls in mining-affected communities."
