Uttarakhand reshuffles officials

DEHRADUN: In a late evening reshuffle on Wednesday, the Uttarakhand government changed the portfolios of several IAS officials and transferred some PCS officials.
With the changes, Prabhat Kumar Sarangi, who was secretary (information) and secretary to the CM, has replaced secretary (power) and chairman of the Power Corporation Shatrughan Singh. The latter has taken over as secretary to the CM and secretary (information).
Subhash Kumar, principal secretary to the CM and commissioner of Garhwal, has been relieved of his responsibilities as commissioner and chief revenue commissioner. Additional chief secretary NS Napalchayal has been appointed as chief revenue commissioner. Umakant Panwar has been made commissioner of Garhwal.
The departments of science and technology and bio-technology have been taken away from principal secretary Keshav Desiraju and Rajiv Chandra has been given charge of them.
Additional Secretary PS Jangpangi has been given additional charge of staff officer of the chief secretary. Rakesh Kumar has been given additional charge of the medical education and public grievances departments.
Additional secretary (personnel) Chandrashekhar Bhatt has been relieved of the charge and made secretary, state public service commission.
Among the PCS officers transferred is ADM of Udham Singh Nagar Harish Chandra Semwal, who has now been made CDO of Pithoragarh. ADM of Hardwar BS Dhanik has been made ADM of Udham Singh Nagar.
