The collaboration aims to promote tourism as part of the central government's "Vibrant Village" programme, which focuses on enhancing development and improving infrastructure in remote areas, according to an official release.

The state tourism is also set to expand its heli-services to remote districts of the state. The initiative aims to create employment opportunities in these areas while encouraging reverse migration.

Further, the helipads would be used for emergency medical rescue services for local residents.

Additionally, secretary of tourism Sachin Kurve informed that aerial routes for heli-tourism would be jointly identified with ITBP to develop Heli Tourism Circuits.
Currently, ITBP has a presence in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh, three border districts in Uttarakhand.
