NEW DELHI: The Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, formerly known as the Canara Lok Sabha constituency or Karwar Lok Sabha Constituency, is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. The constituency underwent a name change following the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies in 2008.

The Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency is set to hold polls on May 7 (Phase 3) of this year. The results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the Uttara Kannada constituency will be declared on June 4.

As a political stronghold, the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha Constituency in Karnataka holds considerable sway in Indian politics. The constituency represents a diverse population and continues to be a vital part of Karnataka. In 2024, voters are even more eager to demonstrate the strength of their vote. Prominent candidates for the 2024 Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha Constituency include Visheshwar Hegde Kageri from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Dr Anjali Nimbalkar from Congress.

The 2019 General Assembly Elections in Uttara Kannada were marked by intense competition. The constituency recorded a voter turnout of 74.10% in 2019. BJP candidate Anantkumar Hegde emerged victorious in the 2019 General Election, securing 7,86,042 votes and defeating Anand Asnotikar of the JD(S), who received 3,06,393 votes. Anantkumar Hegde's victory margin stood at 4,79,649 votes.
