KOLKATA: Following heavy rains eight long distance trains were either cancelled or rescheduled by Eastern Railways.

KOLKATA: Eight long-distance trains were cancelled on Eastern Railways'' Howrah and Malda divisions today due to breaches along the track at six places between Tilbhita and Kotalpukur following torrential rains on Friday.
The cancelled trains from and to Sealdah were Kanchenjungha Express, Teesta Torsa Express, Hatey Bazare Express, Sealdah-Varanasi Express and Kanchankanya Express, railway sources said.

Howrah-Malda town Janshatabdi Express and Howrah-Malda town fast passenger trains from and to Howrah were also cancelled along with Malda town-Bhiwani Farakka Express, the sources said, adding the eight trains were run via diverted routes today.
The authorities announced rescheduling of Kamrup Express for the day.
