Todis paid Rs 11 L to split Rizwan & Priyanka: CBI
NEW DELHI: The family of Kolkata's leading hosiery manufacturer Ashok Todi allegedly paid Rs 11 lakh to try to separate his daughter Priyanka and her spouse Rizwanur Rehman, whose mysterious death has now created a huge controversy.
The money was given to Moinuddin alias Pappu. Sources in CBI said the money changed hands after Pappu, an exporter known for his contacts in Lal Bazar headquarters of Kolkata police, promised to deliver.
Sources said that the Todis had confessed to having made the payment, routed through Todi's brother Pradeep Todi and another relative, realtor Anil Kayal, but Pappu insists that he did not receive any money.
