Tiruchi: Youth tries to rape 4-yr-old, inflicts cigarette burns

TIRUCHI: A 19-year-old youth inflicted burn injuries with cigarette on a 4-year-old girl child and attempted to rape her near Tiruchi on Thursday.
The kid, studying in LKG, was rescued by her mother and admitted to the government hospital. The youth was arrested by police. He was remanded and sent to the Central Prison on Friday. The youth had reportedly told the police that he attempted to rape the kid after watching a porn video.
Police said that P Kandhasamy (19), a construction labourer from Pazhur near Jeeyapuram had duped the kid living in the neighbourhood and took her inside his house.He then inflicted burn injuries on the thighs of the kid. As the girl cried in pain, Kandhasamy on the guise of applying medicine on the burn injury attempted to rape her.
Police said that the girl's mother heard the cries and rushed to her rescue but found the door of Kandasamy's house locked from inside. As neighbours too gathered in front of the house, Kandhasamy fled the house through the back door. The girl's mother then entered the house and rushed the unconscious kid to government hospital in Tiruchi.
When the girl's father who returned home late in the night was told about the incident, he went to Kandhasamy's house and picked up a quarrel with the latter. However, Kandhasamy threatened with dire consequences if the girl's parents approached the police. It was then that they lodged a police complaint.
