sun

emerges from behind the hills of the Northeast, and from beyond the sea along India's east coast, it rises in Dong, which is in a valley in

Arunachal Pradesh

Dong is actually situated further east than Katchal in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, which the Royal Greenwich Observatory said would see the first

sunrise

in India at the turn of the millenium, RediffOnTheNet reported.

You can't drive here, for this beautiful valley doesn't have any motorable roads, the report adds.
