Celebrated French author and Kolkata lover Dominique Lapierre whose books sold millions of copies passed away on December 4

French writer Dominique Lapierre, bestselling author of the ode to Kolkata, City of Joy, who also collaborated with Larry Collins to write six books that sold more than 50mn copies in over 30 languages, has died.
“At 91, he died of old age,” the author’s wife Dominique Conchon-Lapierre was quoted as saying by the French newspaper Var-Matin on December 4.
