Terror funding: ED arrests 2 in Jammu

JAMMU: Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday arrested two persons accused of narco-terrorism linked to the funding of pro-Pakistan terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in Jammu. A PMLA court remanded Arshad Ahmed Allie and Fayaz Ahmed Dar in ED custody for five days.

“The proceeds from cross-border drug smuggling were laundered in the name of sale and purchase of second-hand cars. The funds were then routed into the hands of active terrorists for the sole purpose of anti-national activities,” ED spokesperson said.

Police busted the narco-terrorism module in 2019, leading to the seizure of drugs and cash.
