Tamil actor held for threatening producer
Tamil actor Babu Ganesh was on Friday arrested for allegedly threatening a film producer with dire consequences if he did not withdraw a police complaint against him.
CHENNAI: Tamil actor Babu Ganesh was on Friday arrested for allegedly threatening a film producer with dire consequences if he did not withdraw a police complaint against him.
Police said that Ganesh was arrested after a complaint was received from producer Pyarelal.
In his complaint, Pyarelal said Ganesh and a gang of rowdy elements intercepted him on the road on Thursday and demanded that he withdraw a police complaint he had earlier lodged against the actor in connection with a dispute that had arisen during the last Producer's Association election.
Ganesh has secured anticipatory bail in the dispute, police said.
Acting on Pyarelal's second complaint, police arrested Ganesh, who was later remanded to judicial custody.
