LUCKNOW: The designated CBI court hearing the Taj Heritage Corridor case on Monday fixed September six for further hearing of the matter. Special judge (Anti-Corruption) Rekha Dixit deferred the hearing after the counsel for one of the accused, former Environment Secretary R K Sharma, moved an application seeking an adjournment. Sharma has filed an intervention plea in the matter.
Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar had earlier refused to accord sanction to prosecute Chief Minister Mayawati and her cabinet colleague Naseemuddin Siddique in the case. Besides Sharma, the other accused in the Rs 175 crore scam are Undersecretary Rajendra Prasad and former IAS official V K Gupta.
